A Business Based at Home Still Requires a Plan and a Solid Marketing Foundation

The key to any successful business is in the planning. A business based at home must plan the steps to implement and these steps can be reached through conversations, personal knowledge and practice.

What steps are you taking to insure your home based marketing business is on the correct pathway to success?

Before you can enjoy the freedoms that come through working for yourself online, you must determine what you are going to do, how you are going to do it, and what tools you can use to build it. You also must have an idea as to what investment elements you will give your business.

Education is paramount if you’re just starting out. You were never taught this type of marketing strategy in school, so you’re going to have to find things out on your own. Finding a mentor will save you time, energy and stress.

Your knowledge about a marketable product and the passion you have for it begins the plan and sets the foundation for building your business plan. The foundation is critical for any business structure to endure time.

Foundations must be constructed to support the structure placed upon it. Your business structure will only be as strong as the foundation in which it has been placed.

Foundations could be constructed 8 feet thick; this would be very strong but time consuming to build. The true structure may never be worked upon due to the expense placed in the foundation.

Foundations could be constructed to 3 inches thick; this would be quick to build but very weak. Should your business structure be growing strong, this narrow foundation won’t support that structure.

Foundations usually are constructed between 8-12 inches thick; these walls are strong and built in a timely manner. The structure placed upon them will stand for many years. Build yours smartly and the supporting of your business based at home can sustain over time.

The marketing foundation is built through knowledge of your product or service and the research that is executed early.

Research that is necessary to solidify this foundation would include;

– Keywords are the steel bars within the concrete walls. Knowing your product and niche will require many keywords, relative to your business, to support all the content you will be preparing. Content for websites, blog posts, articles written, sales pages written, ads placed.
– Competition is out there so know what they are doing, how they have tried to set themselves apart and how can you better the best.
– Technology changes on the web quickly. Knowing what is being utilized today and how it can benefit your business is crucial to your success. I’m not saying that you must drop the currant effort to work the latest, but knowing what it is so when you are ready to jump in, you will be ready.
– Education is the continual maintenance and inspections performed on the foundation walls to know that they are performing as designed. Never underestimate the power and fulfillment you will have with knowledge about your business, your product(s), your marketing strategies, your customer’s needs and wants.

Know it; understand it; be able to duplicate it; and you will be it.

IT Foundation Management As a Key Business Driver

IT Foundation Management (ITFM) is an IT management approach that spans the IT devices (hardware/software) required to support one or more IT operations, IT services, business services, customer services (products), or business operations as a Foundation; and then proactively manages each Foundation for reliability, security, compliance, performance and cost by establishing persistent, real-time connections to those assets for monitoring, control, remediation and configuration. IT Foundation Management is a bottom-up approach to building the highest level of reliability, security and compliance behind the services and operations of the business.

From the privileged asset connections of IT devices that provide unrestricted access and master control of assets – up through operating systems, virtualization, databases and applications – IT Foundation Management is the highly secure and proactive management approach to ensuring that the mission-critical services and operations of the business are supported by IT without compromise.

ITFM is also the most cost-effective means of ensuring that the organization can consistently and reliably meet mission-critical goals while protecting the organization’s operations, brand and reputation from disruptive – even debilitating – harmful events.

ITFM takes a bottom-up approach to managing the hardware and software the business uses to get work done – including all of the technology assets used by the organization. This bottom-up approach is the defining element of Foundation Management, setting in place the management practice that starts with the privileged interfaces to hardware, operating systems and virtual machines – interfaces that are typically NOT part of an organization’s IT Infrastructure or systems-managed practices.

This is an extremely important point as these privileged interfaces are the foundational blocks that the rest of the IT Infrastructure is built upon and if these blocks are not reliable and secure then the organization’s technology is subject to inflated operating costs, operational disruption, security compromise, and even systems failure.

The Purpose of IT Foundation Management (Business Objectives)

Organizations use IT Foundation Management to support business objectives; from meeting service level agreements, to securing against the Insider Threat, to compliance and cost reduction.
ITFM is a key part of CIO strategy, as it is one of the most important tools the CIO has in protecting the organization’s Brand, satisfying its customers, reducing the cost of external threats, and protecting the organization’s high value assets (sensitive data and intellectual property).
ITFM is the technical expert’s best friend, simplifying their job with embedded process and best practice, and by giving them location-independence in their management practices and personal job functions.
ITFM can only be realized through a rigorous application of technology to meet the requirements of real-time (milliseconds) event detection, privileged connection management, device ubiquity, optimized process, location independence, and forensic evidence. Anything less is not Foundation Management, and the benefits attributed to Foundation Management will not be realized.
ITFM provides the organization with a solid foundation able to support business operations even as they change and reshape themselves against market demands and economic shifts.

With IT Foundation Management, organizations increase their ability to adapt their business against internal and external pressures without eroding or compromising the technological foundation their business is built on. IT Foundation Management secures the present, records the past, and prepares the organization for the future.

Powerful Leadership Is Possible When Sound Practical Principles Are Applied

Some leaders and preachers and teachers make more enemies from preaching and teaching on this topic than on any other subject, but if we do not preach and teach on this we are being spiritually delinquent, and we are being delinquent leaders in general.

In Matthew Chapter 6 verses 1 to 4 in the New Testament, Jesus Christ is speaking to His disciples about giving, and like the previous sentences He is very practical, and if you look on further Jesus is also very practical regarding praying and fasting and how to handle money and worry. Leaders can learn so much from these few sentences if they want to.

There is a slight switch in emphasis. Jesus turns to Worship and how disciples should live life and worship. There is far more to the Christian life than trying to be nice and not doing wrong.

We cannot shut out God from any area. Rule God out and we are no longer living a Christian life!

Giving, Praying and Fasting were three pillars of Jewish piety, and Jesus takes these three topics on which to teach.

Some religious people act as if money was not important. “Don’t preach on that”, is suggested in some places, but that is not the way they act outside. Think on the banks and finance houses and businesses and the mess many are in these present times. If only they had paid attention to what Jesus Christ, the Son of God, taught, so much pain and embarrassment and hurt and harm could have been avoided.

Consider the numbers who have committed suicide as a consequence of appalling covetous greedy financial dealing.

Jesus Christ has a lot to say about money, because money has a lot to say about us.

Do you know how much so-and-so left? Yes. Everything! All he had.

The first thing Jesus says about giving is, be careful. Do not be like the hypocrites. Do not do things for show or human applause. Do not draw attention to yourself. We are dealing with practical foundations here.

What we do with our material wealth determines how much spiritual wealth we end up with. You can send it on ahead and we have to go down to verses 19 and 20 to learn and understand all about that. Where we invest our wealth is important.

I was in our local bank only last week speaking to the financial adviser about money and the economic conditions in Scotland and I was shocked to learn that good investment terms these days earn about 1.7% or 2.1% depending upon the time you invest the sum of money.

I think the financial adviser was as shocked when I spoke about Jesus Christ speaking about thirty times or sixty times or one hundred times what you invest in the ‘Bank of Heaven’ or the work of Almighty God.

When I told a successful farmer that he was quite shocked as well. He thought I was meaning 30% or so, but no. I am not into what is called ‘prosperity teaching’ but leaders need to know and understand what God will do when man does his part and exercises his responsibility.

What powerful leadership we could have in our nation if these powerful principles were put into practice and greed and covetous and envy and bad competition were laid aside. It is possible.

Read the Sermon on the Mount and give it a try. It is not easy, but it is possible.

Sandy Shaw is Pastor of Nairn Christian Fellowship, Chaplain at Inverness Prison, and Nairn Academy, and serves on The Children’s Panel in Scotland, and has travelled extensively over these past years teaching, speaking, in America, Canada, South Africa, Australia, making 12 visits to Israel conducting Tours and Pilgrimages, and most recently in Uganda and Kenya, ministering at Pastors and Leaders Seminars, in the poor areas surrounding Kampala, Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.

The Importance and Practicality of Multicultural Education

When you take children from many types of cultures and show them what it is like in other parts of the nation or world, this exposure produces an expansion of understanding of how people get along harmoniously.

By teaching them the dance and art of several very different communities, it shows them perspective. Like many different ways to look at a beautiful diamond cut, shining in the sunlight. If everyone looked at things the same way, and from the same direction, mankind would only see one angle, one color, and one simple way of understanding.

For example, in regions where the indigenous people date back several thousand years, the types of dance and artwork can date back to extraterrestrial visitations.

Though this seems a funny thing to modern man, it is as natural as breathing to those accustomed to hearing the oral history through fireside storytelling with dancing.

The importance of interaction with elders, who spend most of their days helping others, encourages selfless service. Even though they may have learned lessons the hard way, children can benefit from their life lessons in such a way as not to repeat the same mistakes.

Who wants to live in a society that rapes the land and poisons the earth, when the knowledge of living in balance with the planet that protects us is available? Drawing on the sun, and the light that comes from it will bring social values into check, because when you stop polluting and extracting valuable resources needlessly, an understanding of conservation comes into view. The Romans were notorious for pouring their sewage into pristine waterways. Why follow in the footsteps of a culture extinct from the degradation of family values and completely lacking a moral compass?

If society embraces the differences of other cultures instead of shun them, it can begin to see the rich experiences which lead to a balanced understanding of how our Creator sees things. Even though God is called Allah and El Shaddai, He is still our Lord. All cultures who survive the tests of time have at least a basic understanding that we are all humans, children of the One God, our Father. The difference between Jew, Christian, and Muslim are just facets of a gemstone in the light. Be it the bloodline and teachings from Isaac, Immanuel, or Muhammed, they all brought the messengers of the Covenant between Abraham and God.

The experience of many cultures provides an outlet into something new and old. The children are open to how cultures do things differently, yet still live in harmony with each other and their neighbors. The New Kingdom is sure to arrive soon, and with this new will come a complete shaking off of the old worn out ways of doing things. Let’s prepare the children and give them a good, practical foundation, so they are ready for the changes ahead.
